Carol Jago
Carol Jago is a teacher with thirty-two years of experience in middle and high school in Santa Monica, California. The author of nine books on education, she continues to share her experiences as a writer and as a speaker at conferences and seminars across the country. Her experience in standards assessment, literature study, and writing instruction has makes her a sought-after speaker. Carol served on the planning committee for the 2009 NAEP Reading Framework and the 2011 NAEP Writing Framework and directs the California Reading and Literature Project at UCLA.
Carol Jago's long-time work with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has led to her election to a four-year term on the council's board. During that term she will serve as president of the Council. Carol is also active with the California Association of Teachers of English and edits CATE's award-winning journal California English.
