The Portfolios video series offers a model of curriculum and evaluation in which students have a strong voice in planning and documenting their work. Filmed in elementary classrooms during the University of New Hampshire's Manchester Portfolio Project, the videos show how teachers and students implement portfolios to develop inner standards of excellence in reading, writing, and evaluation.
This video takes you into portfolio classrooms where students and teachers learn from and with one another. By working together, students learn to trust and value others as resources. To make their goals more concrete and to develop personal responsibility, they are asked to create specific plans outlining what they want to learn and how they can make that learning happen.
