Honi J. Bamberger is the author of Introduction to Connections, Grades 3-5, part of the Math Process Standards Series. A former classroom teacher, she is an associate professor in the department of mathematics at Towson University, as well as a mathematics education researcher, the author of many books and articles, and a nationally recognized speaker on math education. more >

Brian Campbell and Lori Fulton
Brian Campbell and Lori Fulton are the coauthors of Science Notebooks: Writing About Inquiry. Lori is a teacher in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brian is a curriculum developer at the Lawrence Hall of Science. Brian and Lori have had extensive involvement in the National Science Foundation-funded Local Systemic Change, Mathematics, and Science Enhancement Project (MASE). more >

Jenny Jorgensen
Jenny Jorgensen is coauthor of The Differentiated Math Classroom: A Guide for Teachers K-8 (2007). She has worked with students and teachers in grades K–12 as well as with undergraduate and graduate students in the area of mathematics education. She is currently a math teacher leader at Yarmouth Middle School in Yarmouth, Maine. more >

Miki Murray
Miki Murray is coauthor of the forthcoming The Differentiated Math Classroom: A Guide for Teachers K-8 (2007) and author of the popular Teaching Mathematics Vocabulary in Context (2004). In a thirty-five year career in mathematics education, she taught for more than twenty-five years, including time at Nancie Atwell's Center for Teaching and Learning, and was a professional development provider for another ten years. She currently consults, conducts workshops, and mentors math teachers. more >

Susan O'Connell
Susan O'Connell edits Heinemann's Math Process Standards Series. She has been a classroom teacher, instructional specialist, testing coordinator, and district school-improvement specialist. She currently advises a federal education grant at the University of Maryland and consults nationwide. Sue is the author of Introduction to Problem Solving, 2/e and Introduction to Communication (2007)—both part of the Math Process Standards Series—and Now I Get It (2005). more >

Marlene Thier
Marlene Thier is co-author of The New Science Literacy: Using Language Skills To Help Students Learn Science (2002). A 25-year veteran of the classroom, Marlene has been a science materials developer, teacher educator, and internationally recognized leader in the movement to link science and literacy education. She has made presentations on the subject at conferences from California to South Africa, Brazil and Hong Kong and has worked closely with many schools to implement programs based on her concepts. more >

Jo Anne Vasquez
Jo Anne Vasquez is the author of the Heinemann title Tools and Traits for Highly Effective Science Teaching, K–8. An experienced elementary science educator who has taught primary through college level courses, she has achieved national prominence through her extraordinary contributions to science education as a keynote speaker and professional developer. more >

Lucy West
Lucy West has served New York City schools in a variety of roles from classroom teacher, curriculum developer, and assistant principal to teacher supervisor and Director of Mathematics Instruction for Community School District #2. She participated in the creation of the Institute for Learning at the Learning Research and Development Center, University of Pittsburgh. Her best-selling title Content-Focused Coaching, written with coauthor Fritz Staub, is one of the products of that collaboration. more >
