He is the author of Working with Second Language Learners: Answers to Teachers' Top Ten Questions and Going Graphic: Comics at Work in the Multilingual Classroom (both from Heinemann). In addition to his Heinemann books, Cary has published a number of other books and instructional materials for teachers working with second language learners.

As a consultant, Cary offers a variety of workshops, in-class demo activities, teacher coaching, and program planning and evaluation services.
