| Speaker Bio
Michael Salinger is an author, performer and educator. He has been performing his poetry for over twenty years and teaching creative writing and performance for the past decade. He feels privileged to have worked with youth and young adults in such far-flung places as Fairport Harbor, Ohio and Shanghai, China. He believes strong communication skills are the result of writing and speaking with confidence. He also believes this is one of the best gifts we can impart on our youth.
Michael is a frequent speaker in classrooms, conferences and professional development days nationally and abroad where he has presented workshops in writing and performing as well as keynote addresses. He is the curriculum director and lead instructor of the Slam U program at Playhouse Square Foundation, which teaches writing and public speaking skills to Cleveland Ohio inner city youth. He is the founder and dean of faculty for Poetry Slam Inc. and SUNY Oneonta’s Poetry Cross Training Conference.
Michael may also be booked with his partner-in-rhyme and co-author Sara Holbrook.
